Annual Meeting of Social Workers from Karnataka Jesuit Mission Centres (2025)

17th & 18th March 2025

Ashirvad hosted a two-day annual meeting on the 17th and 18th of March 2025, bringing together over 90 staff members engaged in the social apostolate from various social centres of the Karnataka Jesuit Province. The gathering also included the Jesuit Directors of these centres.

On the first day, 17th March, each mission centre was given 10 minutes to present its annual activity report through a video presentation, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.  The Karnataka Jesuit Province operates around seven mission centres, including Ashirvad, and each centre made commendable efforts in showcasing its work.

As part of the event, CSC Ashirvad staff members – Fr. Arul Anthony, Mr. Anand, and Mr. Arockya Selva – presented a meticulously prepared and creatively crafted video film as CSC Ashirvad’s Annual Report FY 2023-24, which prominently featured MAIN activities. The presentation was well received and highly appreciated by attendees.

On the second day, everyone enjoyed an outing to a resort on the outskirts of Bengaluru. We spent the day playing cricket and water throw-ball, while some kept themselves busy with carrom, table tennis, and shuttlecock. It was a fun-filled day that everyone thoroughly enjoyed from morning until evening. The MAIN team from Ashirvad seized this opportunity to distribute brochures and highlight its efforts in assisting the migrant population in Bengaluru, as well as responding to distress calls from across Karnataka. The report showcased Various initiatives undertaken to support migrants who had approached them with cases related to death, missing persons, wage disputes, and accidents, raising awareness about Ashirvad’s crucial role in addressing migrant-related concerns.  Additionally, the MAIN staff displayed banners in the meeting hall, featuring cases they had handled to further emphasize their impact. To conclude, MAIN harvested significant attention during the meeting, which stands as a source of pride for us.  For Mr. Anand and Mr. Arockya Selva, this was their first experience attending a meeting with a large gathering of social workers, offering them valuable insights into the diverse initiatives undertaken by Jesuit missions across Karnataka. The participants were enriched by the learning and rejuvenating activities they engaged in over the two days.  Everyone returned to their mission centres with renewed strength and enthusiasm, motivated to contribute more effectively to their respective communities.
