Motivational & Activity Session at L.B. Shastri Nagar
Rev. Fr. Arul Anthony SJ and the Ashirvad CSC team visited the Spandana Study Centre at L.B. Shastri Nagar. Engaging 37 children in motivational talks, fun educational activities, and games, they distributed study materials and school supplies, concluding with cake and joyful celebrations. The entire evening of activities was anchored by Ms. Deekshitha.

Ashirvad’s New Year Visit to SSCs.
The Ashirvad CSC team, including its director, Rev. Fr. Anthony Arul SJ, visited the Spandana Study Centre at Ramaiah Colony, Chemmasandara 2 and Kaveri Nagar slums. They motivated 25 children for the new academic term, shared inspiring words, and concluded with cake and ice cream. The visit strengthened the bond between the team and the children, fostering a sense of community and encouragement.

Celebrating Science and Imagination: Spandana Expo 2025
Ashirvad’s CSC, spearheaded by Rev. Fr. Arul Anthony SJ, hosted the Science Expo 2025 at Loyola Hall, SJU, with 110 participants from 15 Spandana Study Centres. Through competitions in drawing, speeches, and science models, students showcased creativity, curiosity, and teamwork. The event concluded with prizes, refreshments, and a celebration of learning.

International Women’s Day Celebration
Approximately 80–90 women attended a program at Loyola Hall, Ashirvad, organized in collaboration with CARE. The event included inspiring speeches, a mono-act on women’s struggles, and sessions on financial literacy and small savings groups. Each participant received a steel container, and the program concluded with refreshments and a group photo.

Video Documentary on Ashirvad and CSC
Led by Fr. Anthony Arul SJ with support from Mr. Anand and Mr. Arockya Selva, the team scripted, filmed, and produced a documentary featuring students and volunteers from Heeranna Gudde, Veerabhadra Nagara 1 & 2, and SJU Study Centre. The documentary was showcased at the province’s annual social apostolate meeting, receiving widespread appreciation for its creativity and impact.

Annual Meeting of Jesuit Social Centres
The Ashirvad team presented the video documentary at the Annual Meeting of Jesuit Social Centres in Karnataka, where over 90 staff members appreciated the creative presentation. The event provided valuable learning and inspiration regarding diverse Jesuit initiatives across the state.

Spandana Camp 2025
The Spandana Summer Camp brought together 60 children for twelve days of fun, learning, and creativity. With the direction of Fr. Arun Luis SJ and coordinated by Fr. Anthony Arul SJ and his team, activities included games, crafts, and interactive sessions. The camp concluded with a valedictory program and educational outings, leaving lasting memories.

Empowering Students through AI: Smart Career Choices at Ashirvad
Ashirvad hosted AI-based career assessment sessions led by Mrs. Jannifer and Mrs. Shubhashini. Guided by Fr. Arul Luis SJ and coordinated by Fr. Anthony Arul SJ and his staff, a group of selected senior students from SJU tuition centre, explored career interests through tests, one-on-one guidance, and discussions, receiving personalized advice on strengths and subject choices, leaving them motivated, reflective, and prepared for future career paths.

Session on Film Appreciation to Sahaya Students
Fr. Anthony Arul SJ and Mr. Arockya Selva conducted an interactive session on Film Appreciation for second- and third-year Sahaya students attending a month-long residential program in English and academics at Ashirvad. The session featured a discussion on the Kannada film Harivu, highlighting human struggle and dignity. Fr. Anthony introduced basic filmmaking concepts, story structure, and the role of climactic moments in conveying meaning. Students reflected in groups and presented their insights, enhancing critical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking.

The event featured interactive sessions, a documentary screening, parents’ orientation, and distribution of study materials, fostering enthusiasm, community participation, and commitment to children’s education.

Spandana Study Centres at Deepanjali Nagara and Anandapuram reopened with children, parents, and Ashirvad CSC team, led by Fr. Anthony Arul SJ. Interactive activities, addresses by Fr. Anthony Arul SJ, and a documentary inspired learning. We were happy to have Scholastics Santhosh, Laran and Canon who interacted with students and parents. Study materials were distributed, emphasizing parental involvement and community support, marking a joyful start to the academic year.

Medical Outreach for Migrant Families
A medical camp and awareness programme was held at Loyola High School, Mt. St. Joseph, co-organized by Anekal Jesuit Mission and CIRW, with active participation from Ashirvad MAIN, Karnataka Hub and under the leadership of Fr. Anthony Arul SJ, its director. Over 500 migrants benefited from free check-ups and medical support, showcasing a collective commitment to health, care, and community well-being.

Spandana Workbook Distribution Drive
Under the direction of Fr. Anthony Arul, Anand and Arockya visited four Spandana Study Centres, distributing 133 Aarunya English Speaking Workbooks and cream biscuits. The visit inspired children during exams, appreciated volunteers’ dedication, and ended joyfully with Anand’s family joining the meaningful trip.

Bala Mela 2025
Bala Mela 2025 was celebrated on 16th November at St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School Campus, Bengaluru, bringing together over 450 children from the Spandana Study Centres for a day of learning, creativity, and cultural expression. Organized by Ashirvad – Centre for Social Concern in collaboration with People Inc., SJBHS, SJCC, and SJPUC, the event featured a grand inauguration led by Chief Guest Ms. Aishani Shetty and several dignitaries.

Awareness Sessions at Veerabadhra Nagara
the Ashirvad Centre for Social Concern (CSC) organised awareness sessions for children at the Veerabadhra Nagara Tuition Centre. The programme was designed for students from 5th standard onwards, focusing on health and menstrual hygiene for girls and value-based life guidance for boys, with the aim of promoting holistic development. Children from various Spandana Study Centres—Veerabadhra Nagara 1 and 2, Heeranna Gudde, Ganapathy Slum, and Vinayaka Badavane—actively participated.
